It's that time of year again. How did you do with your Lenten devotions?  Each year at this time we are humbled as we reflect on the last 40 days. We are near the end of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week and the Sacred Triduum.  😇 And whether you grew spiritually or stumbled through Lent, it is never too late to make each day HOLY with Our Lord.  Here are some easy ideas to KEEP the week holy and remain focused on Him through this week and beyond:

  1. Daily Prayer - It is VERY basic and seems almost ridiculous to mention. But TIME for daily prayer is what is most needed. If you have not been setting aside at LEAST the first hour and the last hour of our days for prayer - start now.
  2.  Family Rosary - Our Lady of Fatima asks us to pray the Rosary daily. Pray with your family at the same time each day. Habits take hold and soon the Rosary devotion is a natural rhythm in your day
  3. Be creative - It sounds child-like, but sometimes we need to approach Our Savior in ways that reflect the creative aspects of the personalities He gave us. Color, write in a journal, create something that expresses your love for Him, hang holy art in your home, the possibilities are truly endless.
  4. Read Scripture Every Day this Week - In Holy week, the propers of the Mass are FULL of so much depth and detail of this most Holy time that we commemorate.  Read alone or as a family. Read, reflect, pray. Use the Lectio Divina or simply discuss the verses as a family or write your thoughts in a prayer journal.
  5. Mass - It goes without saying that your presence at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Triduum are edifying and good for the soul. Holy Thursday, Good Friday & Easter Sunday are my personal favorite times of the entire liturgical year!
